A nonwoven that shrinks up to thirty percent when you steam it. Stitch fabric to it flat, apply steam, and the whole surface puckers and gathers into texture you could not achieve by hand.
Art quilters use it for landscape and dimension work. The shrinkage is not perfectly even, which is the point.
