Pellon Natural Cotton Batting with Scrim
$8.95
Needle-punched 100% natural cotton with a fine scrim binder. The scrim is a thin web bonded through the batting that stops it stretching out of shape while you handle it, and it is the reason you can leave ten inches between lines of quilting instead of four.
Unbleached, so it reads warm rather than stark. It shrinks three to five percent on the first wash, which is what gives a finished quilt the crinkle most people are after — prewash it if you do not want that.
