Questions

Before you order

What do I need to start cutting accurately?

A 45mm rotary cutter, a self-healing mat of at least 18 by 24 inches, and one square ruler. Those three do most of the work in a quilt. Everything else in this section either replaces a worn part or handles a size the basic set cannot.

Why do my blocks come out slightly small?

Usually the blade rather than the piecing. A dull blade drags the top layer out from under the ruler by a thread or two on every pass, and a dozen cuts later the block will not square up. Change the blade before blaming the seam allowance.
